Fleet Services Mechanic

BAMCo is seeking a skilled and experienced Fleet Services Mechanic to perform a wide range of trailer repairs, including welding, structural work, and advanced mechanical services. This is a senior-level position ideal for someone who values craftsmanship, efficiency, and mentorship. In this role, you’ll also help guide and train our mechanic apprentices, playing a key part in developing the next generation of BAMCo technicians.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform all levels of mechanical and structural trailer repairs, including welding and fabrication
• Troubleshoot and repair air systems, lighting, suspensions, and structural components
• Complete work both in our shop and on field service calls as needed
• Utilize BAMCo’s CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) to manage work orders, parts usage, and documentation
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace and service vehicle
• Mentor and assist mechanic apprentices with techniques, safety procedures, and best practices
• Communicate professionally with dispatch, team leads, and customers

What We’re Looking For:

• High school diploma or GED required; technical training or certifications a plus
• Minimum 5 years of experience in trailer or heavy-duty vehicle repair
• CDL Driver’s license (Class A or B) preferred but not required.
• Proficient in welding (steel and aluminum) and fabrication
• Experience with preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and DOT compliance
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Comfortable using digital tools and CMMS software
• Clean driving record and valid driver’s license
• Drug and alcohol free, with a commitment to safety and professionalism
• Positive attitude and willingness to lead by example
